Mayor Landrieu spoke at a BGR Breakfast Briefing sponsored by IBERIABANK.
Mayor Landrieu discussed the accomplishments of his administration over the past seven years, including the work on the firefighter’s pension fund. He then discussed the remaining issues he plans to address before his term ends. One item on his agenda is non-profit property tax exemptions. BGR recently released an open letter on the state’s unusual nonprofit property tax exemptions, presenting a template for a constitutional amendment to bring the state’s exemptions in line with national norms. The mayor noted at several intervals BGR’s essential contributions to significant policy reforms.
